Here are the answers to some of our Frequently Asked Questions:
We are situated on the ocean front, 500 metres from the centre of
Candi Dasa, and 1.5 hours from the airport, in the East of Bali,
We are a small boutique hotel of only 6 apartments OR 11 Rooms.
4 apartments are connected and are sited alongside the pool.
Each apartment has interconnecting doors between air con and fan
cooled rooms A & B.
For extra privacy you can choose the ocean front
bungalow or 2 ocean front A/C rooms, both on the ground floor, and
10 metres from the ocean.
Usually we have a maximum of 24 guests, so there is always space
around the pool with 14 sunbeds and plenty of sun and shade options.
We are not aiming to be No.1 or the best hotel in Bali, although we
have been lucky enough to receive good reviews on the Trip Advisor
website - we are offering an honest and wholistic experience, where
everything has been designed to be in balance and harmony - clean
rooms, fresh environment, fantastic food, friendly owners and happy
We do not "fog" for mosquitoes and insects; we limit the use of
chemicals; our pool uses an ioniser/ bacterial cleanser, and we
provide freshly filtered water free to rooms daily, even our tap water
Whilst some of our guests have felt they have had a 5* experience at
Aquaria, we are not aiming at a star rating, as we choose not to offer
full 5* facilities. We prefer that our hotel remains affordable and
meets guests' expectations.
Whilst apartments and the villa have a bar frig and DVD, some of the
other rooms are not equipped with these facilities, but all rooms are
provided with tea and coffee making facilities.
We have no satellite TV but now have WiFi for guests with their own laptops.
Although Aquaria is not a beach resort; (there is not much beach left
in Candi Dasa, due to erosion), it is situated right on the ocean,
and the ocean waves come up to our sea wall, creating quite a unique
experience. There are steps at the side of the property into the

We offer an exciting and different menu,
changing daily, to bring in fresh energy, and new interest. We use
only the best ingredients, and the menus have been carefully designed
by the owner, Jeni, to provide a balanced choice with fish and prawns,
chicken and vegetarian dishes, with the minimum use of allergy causing
Whilst we offer the standard Balinese/Indonesian fare,
we are aiming at providing a simple taste sensation menu for guests
who have already been disappointed with local food or 'western prices'. We do not use red meat in our cooking, so for those looking
for more varied cuisine there are many restaurants only a short walk
We offer a town shuttle bus and can organise transport, tours and car rental.
Candi Dasa now has 3 ATM machines.
We do not specifically cater for children, and request that guests
bringing children do understand that we are a retreat and therefore we
ask for respect for other guests who are hoping for a relaxing stay.
We request that children must have adult or parental supervision
within the resort. Baby sitting is sometimes available, but usually
they may have little experience with Western children and may not
